Pumpkin Patchin’
Last weekend we made our way up to the cutie town of Mt Vernon (about an hour north of Seattle) and went to Gordon Skagit Farm’s!
The town itself is so adorable and I was pleasantly surprised that there was no line up to get into the venue and parking was fairly easy! The one problem we did have was finding a wagon to carry our pumpkins so we ended up finding someone loading theirs into their car and taking that, so you might find yourself having to do that as well. They had quite the variety of pumpkins and gourds (I think I heard they source 400+!) with tons of different colors, shapes, textures and sizes.
The pumpkin patch its self wasn’t THAT big (aka you can easily bring your littles and they won’t get too tired… fur or human accepted) but there was so much to look at I probably lapped around 4 times or more. Besides hundreds of pumpkins in beautiful displays there was :
a beverage stand (hot chocolate, hot apple cider, etc)
a workshop of dried flowers with people creating wreathes for you right there
fresh bread stand
u-pick apples in the orchard or from a little market stand
fresh pressed apple juice
small shop with clothing items
a giant pumpkin perfect for photo ops
large dried flower arrangements
a pizza food truck
u-pick pumpkin patch!
all around very cute with good prices and lots of great picture opportunities. Scroll down to take a peak!
After the pumpkin patch we made our way back into the town of Mt Vernon and stopped by District Brewing - super good drinks and food with a view of the river! (not dog friendly) I had a hard kombucha that I’m still thinking about… and after that we ventured over to Farm Strong, another good brewery (with delicious soft pretzels) that is dog and kid friendly. FYI, there’s no windows so we didn’t realize how dark it had gotten until we left lol but definitely a good dive/sports brewery that I’d come back to with a deck of cards.
Other Pumpkin Patches in the area I love: Thomas Family Farm, Stocker Farms, Craven Farm, Bob’s Corn & Pumpkin Farm, Spooner Farms. Do you have any to add to the list? Leave a comment!
